Book a classStillwater started in 2016 out of a converted bungalow off Pearl Street, after fifteen years of teaching in gyms that felt like anything but a refuge. The work here is quieter than most: slower vinyasa, longer holds, breathwork you can actually feel land in your ribs. Our teachers are trained in somatic practice, not just posture cues, so what happens on the mat has somewhere to go once you leave.
Morning flow to wake the body up, evening restorative to put the day down. Capped at 14 mats so you're seen, not filed in.
Guided sessions in pranayama and holotropic-style breathing, designed for people who've never done it and people who already have a practice.
Private sessions blending movement, breath, and nervous system work. For clients navigating stress, injury, grief, or a season that needs attention.
"I signed up for one restorative class after a rough week and ended up staying for the tea after. It's the first studio I've been to that doesn't feel like a performance."
"The breathwork workshop actually gave me tools I use at my desk now. Nothing woo-woo, just clear instruction and a room full of people trying it honestly."
"Six months of somatic coaching with Nora has done more for my chronic shoulder pain than two years of stretching on my own. She meets you exactly where you are."
Our vinyasa and restorative classes both have entry points for beginners. Tell the teacher it's your first time and they'll offer modifications throughout.
Just yourself and comfortable clothes. We have mats, bolsters, blankets, and blocks in the studio, and filtered water at the entrance.
Ten minutes early is ideal for a first visit. It gives you time to sign in, meet the teacher, and settle onto your mat before we start.
Vinyasa is a moving practice that builds heat and links breath to motion. Restorative is slow and prop-supported, closer to guided rest than exercise.
No. Somatic coaching works with the body's patterns and nervous system rather than diagnosing or treating mental health conditions. Many clients see us alongside a therapist.
Both. Single classes, five-class packs, and unlimited monthly memberships are all available. Workshops are booked separately.
